This required session provides an overview of Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) expectations related to Dyslexia, the Science of Reading, and Structured Literacy. It is designed for educators who are new to teaching and/or new to Kansas and serves the following roles: Elementary Education, Early Childhood Unified, High-Incidence Special Education (K–12), English Language Arts (Grades 5–12), Reading Specialists, and School Psychologists. Participants will gain foundational knowledge and guidance to support effective literacy instruction aligned with state requirements.
